On October 2–3, 2026, a two-day training was held at the Bushat Administrative Unit. “Interpreting Heritage”, organized by Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism (IETT), in collaboration with the Tourism Office of the Municipality of Vau i Dejës, with the participation of the local community from the Zadrima area.
The training focused on developing the knowledge and skills of the local community for interpreting and promoting the values of cultural heritage, history and traditions of Zadrima, with the aim of creating the most attractive and meaningful experiences for visitors.
During the two days of training, participants engaged in discussions, concrete examples and practical exercises, exploring different ways to convey the history and values of the territory through heritage interpretation techniques. Through this approach, local heritage is treated not only as an asset to be preserved, but also as an opportunity for sustainable tourism development and community empowerment.
The activity took place within the framework of the project “Empowering the Zadrima Community in Providing Tourist Services and Interpreting Cultural Heritage”, funded by Albanian Besa Capital Foundation (ABC) and implemented by Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism (IETT).
Through the support of this project, the ABC Foundation continues to contribute to initiatives that aim to strengthening local communities, promoting cultural heritage and developing new opportunities in the field of tourism, encouraging community involvement in preserving and promoting the values of the territory.
The training constitutes another step towards building local capacities and a more sustainable approach to the promotion of cultural heritage and tourism development in the Zadrima area.
