The microfinance sector in Albania plays a crucial role in the country’s economic and social development, providing accessible financial services to individuals and small businesses that are often excluded from the traditional banking system. As this sector helps in the financial inclusion of vulnerable groups, especially in rural areas and for entrepreneurs with limited financial capacity, the Albanian Besa Capital Foundation (ABC) aims to contribute through financial support in the form of grants for capacity building activities in the microfinance sector. This program represents one of the Foundation's key priorities, recognizing the essential importance of sustainable capacity development of microfinance institutions.
In this context, on May 20-21, 2025, a training on the topic was held at the Besa Fund's Central Offices. “Leadership, Effective Team Management”, attended by the leaders of 16 regional branches and the Central Office. During the training sessions, participants were introduced to the main characteristics of a successful leader, ways to develop these skills, as well as concrete techniques for involving, motivating and effectively leading the team towards achieving the intended results.
With this initiative, the ABC Foundation aims to contribute to building a stronger, more transparent and more oriented microfinance sector towards the real needs of the communities it serves.
