Dear friends, entrepreneurs and partners,

Albanian private enterprise and community have always been a priority in what we do!

Through this message I have the special pleasure to inform you that Albanian Besa Capital Foundation (ABC Foundation) is an institution established in 2008, as a non-profit organization, which operates as a mechanism in support of private entrepreneurship, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises in Albania. After the fall of communist regime, one of the most difficult challenges for Albania has been the adaptation from a centralized economy to a free market economy. In this framework, the ABC Foundation arose as a necessity to respond to the requests of the business community for the continuous increase of their technical and management capacities, as well as for their active inclusion in initiatives and development projects, undertaken in partnership with various actors related to the business.

Furthermore, ABC Foundation aims to harmonize the increasing capacities of private entrepreneurship in Albania with the encouraging initiatives of public and private institutions, economic and financial ones in support to private enterprise development. The establishment and operation of ABC Foundation became a reality exactly at the time when “Fondi BESA sh.a.” successfully faced one of the most important institutional challenges, that of transformation into an institution in the form of a "joint stock company". In this framework, ABC Foundation will undoubtedly continue to be an active supporter and promoter of the development of harmonized technical and financial activities of Fondi BESA sh.a. and of the microfinance system in the country.

Since 2010, ABC Foundation has undertaken and implemented many specific initiatives in support of Albanian private enterprises, business and civil society. Through this website and other informing and transparent mechanisms, are promoted and provided periodically programs and projects, from which civil society, Albanian entrepreneurs and the business community benefit in the form of “grant” and/or co-financings. These projects address the specific needs, which have and will have the entities/organizations, such as private or public.

As capacity building is an essential factor for economic growth, ABC Foundation undertakes initiatives in this framework, through meetings, trainings, consulting, research, etc., where sensitive issues for the business community are addressed such as:

• increasing the cooperation of business community with the microfinance system;
• assessing the tangible issues related to the business in the framework of recent crises/issues and confronting them;
• current and future needs of the business community and adapting to these needs;
• production of sectorial analysis and orienting results, etc.

Dear friends, entrepreneurs and partners, ABC Foundation throughout its existence, has been accompanied by its social mission to promote and support the local entrepreneurship, civil society and vulnerable groups.
