The Albanian Besa Capital Foundation (ABC) has signed a grant contract with the Institute of Education, Heritage and Tourism (IETT) for the implementation of the project “Empowering the Zadrima Community in Providing Tourist Services and Interpreting Cultural Heritage”, winning project selected within the open call for strengthening tourism capacities.
Through the Grants Program, the ABC Foundation supports initiatives that contribute to local economic development, community empowerment and the promotion of sustainable potential of rural areas. This project aims to empower young people, cultural heritage bearers, artisans and local families to provide quality tourism services based on the identity and traditions of the area. Through the identification and documentation of cultural values, practical training, field mentoring and co-creation of a cultural itinerary, the project will build sustainable capacities for the development of cultural tourism in Zadrimë.
During the implementation of the project, activities will be carried out to identify and document traditional practices, training in heritage interpretation and the provision of tourist services, practical coaching in the field, the development of a cultural itinerary, and the organization of a test visit with tour operators to promote and integrate the new tourist offer into the market.
The main beneficiaries of the project will be the youth of Zadrima, cultural heritage bearers, artisans, local families and the wider community, who will have the opportunity to create and offer tourism products and experiences that generate income and promote the cultural identity of the area. Through the support of this project, the ABC Foundation contributes to the preservation and promotion of Albanian cultural heritage, the economic empowerment of local communities and the creation of sustainable development models that combine culture, tourism and local entrepreneurship.
