The Albanian Besa Capital Foundation (ABC) has signed a grant contract with the Egyptian and Roma Youth Movement (LRER) for the implementation of the project "Safe Steps: Summer Program for Improving the Socio-Economic Status of Children in Need in the Municipality of Elbasan", a winning project selected within the open call for project proposals for improving the socio-economic status of children in need.
Through a competitive grant-making process, the ABC Foundation supports initiatives that contribute to social development, inclusion and improving the quality of life of the most vulnerable groups. The LRER project has been recognized for its integrated approach to supporting children in need and their families, while simultaneously addressing educational and social challenges.
The project aims to improve the socio-economic and educational status of 30 children in grades 4–5 from the Roma and Egyptian communities in the Municipality of Elbasan, through a three-month summer program that combines academic support, social activities, and active family involvement.
During the implementation of the project, children will benefit from support in reading, writing and mathematics, as well as engage in social and educational activities aimed at increasing their motivation, integration and continuity in the educational system. In parallel, parents will be oriented towards social services and employment opportunities, contributing to the improvement of the socio-economic conditions of families.
Through this support, the ABC Foundation aims to contribute to reducing the risk of school dropout, increasing educational inclusion, and creating better opportunities for the development of children facing social and economic challenges.
